Recommended hotels for the Chelsea Flower Show

As a London based travel company for over 30 years, with staff who are 'true Londoners' our knowledge of London hotels is we like to think unsurpassed.  Beautiful Garden Holidays staff  visit both top quality Central London hotels and less expensive good quality hotels outside the centre continually, to bring you our final selection of the best hotels in each category.

Our chosen hotels for Chelsea have to meet our very exacting standards, and all receive 'very good to excellent' reviews for their category on the review site 'Trip-Advisor'.

All hotels are well located for getting you to the Chelsea Flower Show, be it walking distance or a convenient journey on public transport. Our selection of properties ranges from tourist class through 3, 4, 5 and 5 star deluxe.  From grand, internationally known hotel brands to the small, intimate London boutique hotels.  Simply guide us as to the style of hotel for Chelsea you would enjoy, and a price range you would like to keep to, and please allow us to offer you our recommendations.

3 useful tips when booking for Chelsea!

1:  Caveat Emptor! If a 'discount hotel booking' company offers reduced rates for a hotel below the hotels own 'rack rate' prices, it is very likely that standards are not being maintained and recent customer reviews are below par;  i.e- you can expect to 'get what you pay for'!  Or an internet search for the booking agent offering the cheapest rates for a particular hotel may well result in you being allocated the hotelier's 'less attractive'  or 'yet to be refurbished' rooms, which it saves for its discount clients!  'Caveat Emptor'- Let the buyer beware!

2:  Don't choose on price alone! As one of the top tourist destinations in the world, a stay in London is far from being cheap, even though recent exchange rates may have softened the blow, but one should try to savour every moment, and the experience can be easily tainted by the wrong choice of accommodation where the deciding factor is price!

3:  If Budget is an issue, why not stay at one of our lovely hotels a little further away from Chelsea, since hotels nearer the show grounds naturally command their highest rates during show time (and are rarely available anyway should you be booking quite close to the date for Chelsea!)

So as we say, a superb way of keeping hotel costs lower without sacrificing quality is to choose a hotel just a little further away from the Chelsea flower show grounds.  Using London's comprehensive, modern and efficient public transport can ensure a rapid transfer to and from the Chelsea show.

For example, stay in Maritime Royal Greenwich  (our head office location!) where you'll enjoy a selection of excellent quality tourist class hotels, luxury international brands, and smaller boutique properties with a much lower price tag than Chelsea, Kensington and the West End in general.   Travel from Greenwich can be by - Tube (London's famous Underground system), DLR (the innovative Dockland's Light Railway, travelling high on stilts above London's new financial centre Canary Wharf!), the equally famous London Red Buses, National Overground Rail, the 'Thames Clipper' fast riverboat connections to the West End along the sights of our famous River Thames, or even (if you are up for even more exercise after a hard day at the flower show!) cycling- see the 'real' London through its back streets.  So you'll be spoiled for choice in getting to and from the flower show, and could spend some quality time exploring the World Heritage Site of Maritime Royal Greenwich on your final morning.
